New Ampliseed Scaling & Systems Change Resource

Our Ampliseed members are the best in their fields in working towards an equitable and sustainable future for people and planet, with a strong focus on sustainability of outcomes. And we know that all of this work is only the start to address the global sustainability challenges we face. Therefore, the need to ‘scale’ project-level ideas and investments is a key challenge that faces us all.

This report captures the outcomes from a series of "Scaling and Systems Change" webinars held over 2022 and 2023, to explore different perspectives on scaling and sustainability of outcomes. The conversations were extremely illuminating in unpacking what it actually means to scale and create change at a systemic level, how it can be done successfully, and - importantly - pitfalls to avoid.

Chapters include experiences and observations from a scaling expert, a wildly successful commercial start-up, and case studies of three BHP Foundation Projects - a national environmental NGO, a global resource management NGO, and a UN education program. The report also includes insights on each topic from Ampliseed participants in the webinars about how these lessons abstract across to other organisations working in environmental resilience and looking to scale.
